Coal River Kayak is located on the Upper Falls of the Coal River in Southern West Virginia.
We are a non-profit river restoration organization that rents our water craft to the public. All income we generate helps our group continue to restore our 840 square mile watershed.
Plan your vacation in West Virginia. The Coal River region is loaded with fun events for the entire family. The Coal River Group has many special paddle events planned.
The 9th annual Tour De Coal family paddle event is a legendary event that everyone loves. Over 600 paddlers joined together last year to float the lazy old river from Tornado to St. Albans (12) miles in 2012. It's a hoot!
Other planned events include the Kevin's Lazy River Adventure on the Big Coal River. A nine mile float trip through Coal Country. The folks that put together this event make everyone feel like a hillbilly and treat you like family. Don't miss this one it's a beautiful 9 mile float with a free picnic with good old fashioned cooks at the end.
Every float on the Coal Rivers provides an opportunity to enjoy the rope swings along the way.
We have more rope swings per mile than any other river system. But remember the famous last words of the good old boy, "Hey guys watch this". Swim at your own risk and be careful.
